# Issue connecting with blynk

can anyone help with this error? I followed the tutorial from Blynk and there was no instruction on where to insert the token.

Hey @Pius4109,

Thanks for reporting this. To fix your issue you’ll need to add a `blynk_device_token` environment variable to your device.

The value of the token should be the auth token of your device, which you can get from your device’s developer tools in Blynk.

I’ll do some checking with the Blynk team as well, as I think we might’ve missed a step for this in the tutorial.

We are trying to investigate your case. Can you please clarify: did you import devices from Notehub on Blynk? Or how else you set up your device on Blynk?

No, I didn’t import. Anytime I click import it says all devices have already been imported. In the integrations section in Blynk, I inserted my client ID and client Secret. Then at the bottom, I chose my template and clicked add. Then When I click import device it shows all devices have already been imported. I also copied the Blynk device token and added it to the Environment Variable for my device. This is all I did. With this, only outbound notes work but I don’t receive any inbound notes.
