# Notecard not connecting to Notehub, red LED blinking in pulses of 3

We have a Notecard 2.2 NOTE-WBNAN that is not connecting to Notehub at all.

The status LED keeps blinking red. It blinks three short red pulses, about every half a second or so, very consistently. It’s not just booting up because it blinks like this indefinitely.

I checked [What do the Notecard LED blink patterns mean?](https://discuss.blues.com/t/what-do-the-notecard-led-blink-patterns-mean/62) but didn’t find the pattern I’m seeing there. I have a video recording of the LED blinking, but I don’t seem to be able to share it here.

Are you able to communicate with the Notecard using the [Web REPL](https://dev.blues.io/terminal/) or [Notecard CLI](https://github.com/blues/note-cli)?

No, there’s no connection to the notecard when using the CLI or the web-based REPL. It wouldn’t even recognize the COM port when trying to put it in boot mode.
