# Notecarrier A I2C Issues

I have a Notecarrier A 2.0 which I have connected to a mcu host ( esp32 ) using 3 wires: ground, sda and scl. Power to host and carrier are via their usb connectors. I’m unable to interrogate the notecard. If I move this setup to a notecarrier F 1.3 , it works like a charm. The only difference being the board.
The notecard itself is a “v1.5 WB NA 500” – thoughts? Ideas?

Hi @gomario2,
Can you please post a picture of your hardware so we can take a look? You’ve probably already done this, but taking the Notecard out and re-seating it can sometimes resolve issues like this.

Hi Rob – I had to deal with another issue for a few days and unplugged everything and just reset it all up with a different ESP32 – and of course everything seems to be fine now. I did reset the card as you suggested. I have 2 suspects: the host or card seating. Will switch out hosts later to eliminate as suspect.
