# QR code link from sticker says device is not recognized even when device is in Notehub

Blues `Device UID` as copy-pasted from QR code text string: `860322068153870`

QR code links to webpage that says the device is not recognized.

Checking the Devices page in Notehub reveals that device is known: `860322068153870`

Hi @daterdots,

I’m curious if you have set anything in the **Device Dashboard URL** in the settings for the associated Notehub project (and are using any placeholder substitution variables in the URL)?

I am not sure what that is, so I don’t think I am doing that!

Hi @daterdots,

It turns out that message on Notehub is not entirely accurate (and we’ll get that updated). The root issue is those QR code stickers are only useful for when a dashboard is already set up. FYI… We’ll be releasing a clarification to the error message in the next few days.  
It will now look something like this.
