# Settings.db retention period in notehub

How long are inbound notes persisted in notehub and available to read with the notehub API, specifically a .db? Also, if we send a settings.db file to notehub using the API but the device is offline, how long will it be retained in notehub pending the next devcie sync…indefinitely?

The settings.db file is retained on Notehub indefinitely.
