# Smoke from AirNote while charging

I noticed my Airnote hadn’t updated for a couple of days (not completely unexpected- a long stretch of rain led to voltage drops). I brought it inside, let it cool down and then attempted to charge via a 5V USB charger as usual. Within 20 min I noticed a white smoke coming from the AirNote. I quickly unplugged it from the charger and put it outside in a steel box in the shade.

I assume this is from the battery? Is the AirNote salvageable or is this the end for it?

Here are pictures. I don’t see obvious burn marks or damage to the battery.
