First thing – thanks to TJ & Rob for quick responses to recent topics.
I had a question about Starnote startup .. the documentation indicates that a cellular HubSync must be issued successfully before switching to Starnote access. Thus, would a boat owner need to be in cellular range (i.e. at a slip) to post the initial HubSync before sailing beyond cellular range? Or could an “initial” Hubsync() be issued once – say at “the factory” .. avoiding cellular access while “at sea”?
The initial sync needs to happen so that Notehub knows about the Notefile templates you plan to use, and can properly decode incoming data that uses those templates.
As long as your templates don’t change that sync only needs to happen once, so I would definitely recommend doing it “at the factory”, or part of some provisioning process.
Oh one other thing: the initial sync also associates your Notecard and Starnote in Notehub as well. That association also needs to happen once too though, so it can also happen during that “at the factory” sync.
