What counts against data usage?

Hello,

What counts against data usage? Do platform events count against you, is it only the “body” contents of a note thats synced? Does it include the HTTP overhead like headers etc. I’m trying to size my payloads so the free 500mb will be enough for a few years of runtime etc. Thanks.

Hi @chasez0r,

Everything the Notecard sends/receives over cellular impacts your data allocation. However, platform events are created on Notehub (not created on Notecard) so those don’t impact you directly. It does include overhead as well. There is a lot of good information in our Low Bandwidth Design guide too.
