I am seeing this health.qo warning when using NOTE-ESP “boot (esp-panic [17181] [5.212])”. Does anyone know what condition causes NOTE-ESP to log esp-panic?
Hi @kdl,
Are you seeing this appear repeatedly or just once? If only once, it’s not likely something to be concerned with. I would definitely make sure you’re on the latest firmware version as we’ve made significant improvements to the firmware for NOTE-ESP recently.

Hi @RobLauer,
This was repeatedly happening while testing one NOTE-ESP. I am updated to the latest firmware version. I am using i2c and the note-c library to communicate with the Notecard. The host firmware boots appropriately and the first hub.sync completes, but on my next attempts to grab the Environment Variables or Sync (haven’t narrowed it down yet) it seems to crash causing the esp-panic and then the NOTE-ESP loses communication with host and Notehub, yet the LED remains lit on the NOTE-ESP. Testing of this is on hold for a week or two while I wait for more inventory to arrive because when I swapped the NOTE-ESP with the Notecard Cell+WiFi, everything functioned normally and we were deploying this device to the field for a customer demo.
Hi @kdl,
Ok thanks for reporting this issue. It would be incredibly helpful if you could generate a trace log for us before/while/after this happens. Hopefully this will tell us what’s going on and if this is a firmware bug on NOTE-ESP or if it is somehow defective.
Thanks,
Rob
