Hi, I’m new to using notecards. I would like to know if I can use the cellular + wifi notecard as an internet access point? That is, use the 500 MB that comes with cellular via Wi-Fi, and I can connect from another device to that Wi-Fi on the notecard.
Hi @Raul13K,
And welcome to the Blues community!
No, the WiFi Notecard does not provide an internet access point. The WiFi Notecard connects to an existing Wi-Fi network, and uses that network to send data to our cloud service, Notehub. The Cell+WiFi Notecard does the same, but also provides the option to send 500MB of cellular data.
Hope that helps, and let us know if you have any other questions.

I understand, thanks for your response. In any case, is there any option so that a raspberry pi can use the internet from the notecard? I have a system that monitors remotely, the raspberry obtains the data through MODBUS TCP and uploads the data to node red. However, I have had problems with simcard since it depends on a specific area of the company (IT).
Raul13K,
We support the Raspberry Pi and have a quickstart guide all about it. If you choose, you can avoid doing any wiring because we have a Pi hat to connect a Notecard to your Raspberry Pi (Notecarrier-Pi datasheet). We also have an example kiosk project powered by Raspberry Pi and Notecard.
Indeed, the Notecard is a good way to get internet connectivity to almost any IoT device without having to go through the whole process of getting a sim card or paying a monthy fee for the sim card.

I just remembered, we actually have an example ModBUS project too if you want to see another way it can be done. (With a low power microcontroller instead of a Pi)
