Depending on if you are more comfortable with Raspberry Pi/Python vs Arduino, I would start with one of our dev kits (e.g. the Feather Starter Kit for Swan or Raspberry Pi Starter Kit).
To get started, the quickstart doesn’t require a host MCU, but the sensor tutorial lets you choose between different boards and languages.
