Brand new Mojo does not work

Just got a Blues Mojo, but my Notecarrier F cannot connect to it. I send {“req”:”card.power”} and I get back:”> {“err”:“you have no mojo {no-mojo}”}. I do certainly have a mojo connected, and connected in the exact order said in the quickstart guide. My firmware is up to date. I have also tried running card.restart and then calling card.power but I get the same result. Any clues as to what’s going on here?

Hi @CRUSTY and welcome to the Blues community!

Do you have a Feather MCU in the socket on your Notecarrier F? If not, that is required since QWIIC is powered from the Feather’s 3.3V rail.

Well that stinks. I dont want to use a Feather. I just wanted to recharge using Solar. Guess I will build my own board and toss the F in the trash.

Hi @chuckgiddens

Before you spin up that board, you might try running jumper wires from the MoJo’s I2C (the pads are beside the LOAD JST connector or you can use the Qwiic breakout cable from Adafruit) to the N_SDA, N_SCL, and GND pins on the Notecarrier-F.

I’m away from my lab, so I haven’t confirmed that works, but based on the schematic for the Notecarrier-F, I’m almost certain it would.

Best,

Zak
