Notecard Cellular stuck in boot loop ( NOTE-MBGLN )

I have been testing a NOTE-MBGLN cellular Cat1-bis for a few months continuously without issue. During some maintenance recently it seems that the notecard firmware filesystem may have become corrupted. The notecard is stuck in a boot loop whereby the RED LED blinks a few times and then the notecard resets.

It is probable that some power supply interruptions occurred which could have damaged the filesystem integrity…

In attempting the de-bricking process the notecard USB device keeps enumerating and dropping every few seconds when connected to the PC so DFU using the in-browser method does not work. I did successfully re-flash and verify a recent firmware <notecard-u5-9.3.1.17434$20251016123854.bin> using the STM32CubeProgrammer method using a Notecarrier-F but it does not change the boot-loop behaviour.

Is there any additional method available to recover this notecard to a working state?

Hi @GazzaSat and welcome to the Blues community!

This sounds like a hardware issue that we might need to inspect locally. Our support team will be reaching out to you shortly so we can get a replacement sent out to you ASAP.

Thanks,
Rob

Thanks Rob. I’ll keep a look-out.

Regards,

Garry

Just to close out this thread. The Blues team arranged an RMA for the affected board which was great and a replacement just arrived.

I hope we will see some root-cause feedback following the analysis when available.

Thanks again team.
