Notecarrier B: powering, skipping the voltage regulator

Hi,

I already have a regulator for my project delivering 3.3V. Is there a pin I can supply it to on the Notercarrier B where it skips the built-in regulator (in order to save any lost energy on the built-in regulator)?

Will there still be power on the VIO pin in that case?

Regards, Gaute

Hi @gauteh,

The Notecarrier B needs voltage on two pins, and 3V3 is fine as long as it will supply 2A. VIO is the input for the Notecard’s microcontroller and VMAIN is the pin that powers the modem itself. Just make sure you don’t plug in the USB and don’t plug a battery into the JST if you are injecting power into VMAIN.
