Hi everyone!
I’m a bit confused after reading the recent blog posts about the new pricing model and was hoping to get some clarification.
The Blues Team responded to some forum entries saying that “platform events” are charged, but there’s an option to opt-out of receiving them. A few days later, they stated that platform events won’t incur any charges, and in the blog post titled “Helping You Scale: New Pricing Updates for 2025” (posted on the Blues Team’s official blog), they mentioned that only event ingress is charged (not platform events themselves).
1a – Where exactly is the option to exclude platform events if they are paid for?
1b – What exactly is meant by “event ingress”? Is it just the data I send to NoteHub?
Additionally, I tested two devices with different configurations. One uses HTTPS + Google Cloud routing, and the other has no routes. When checking usage, the device with no route didn’t consume any credits, but the one with routes consumed double the credits per platform event and data file.
Question: Isn’t routing free, as stated by a developer in another forum response? He even mentioned that I’m encouraged to route events.
Thanks in advance for your help and any clarification!
