I saw this message in the hub console this morning, when I clicked on the billing link it says I have -170 events. As an event mean billing minutes ? I just started using this board a few weeks ago but hope I did not use up all my data minutes yet ?
I renewed the events balance but the banner still says “One or more of your billing accounts has a low balance. Please visit Billing.” I have tried logging out/in
Hi @JimK,
An event in Notehub is a Note/event ingested by Notehub. Each billing account in Notehub is topped up to 5,000 event credits per month. If you’re at -170 events, that would mean you’ve used up the 5,000 free credits for the month. This has nothing to do with data consumption (Blues doesn’t have anything to do with “minutes” on the SIM plan, it’s all data-based).
It does look like you have ample balance now. Are you still seeing that “low balance” warning?

morning Rob, I did top it off buy buying I think it was 15,000 events but I am still seeing this message when I log into the hub:
One or more of your billing accounts has a low balance. Please visit Billing
Btw you said each account gets 5000 event credits per month ? I guess I need to look at my design more closely and perhaps update data less frequently to stay under the 5000 events per month. Thanks
Hi @JimK,
To clarify, when you’re on the Essentials plan (which is the default), we top you up to a maximum of 5,000 free events per month.
Do you by any chance have multiple billing accounts set up? You can check by:
- Clicking your name in the upper-right corner
- Choose “Billing”
- Look at the dropdown in the upper-left corner (this dropdown will show all your billing accounts).
Rob
morning Rob, that was it, thanks !
