I am looking into potentially running these boards on a solar charging system and was wondering what size battery would be required to continue operation for a period of time for situations where light is limited. I cannot find any numbers about current draw in low power states for either of the boards and was wondering if anyone happened to know.

My apologies… should have specified. I am using a sparrow dev kit so I was wanting to power a sparrow reference sensor node with a solar charging system.
Assuming you are using the provided Sparrow Reference Sensor Node from Blues, it does come with a 2xAAA battery holder. Honestly my personal recommendation would be to drop 2x Lithium AAA batteries in there and not worry about solar at all.
