I have a WBNAN on 9.1.1.17181 and I wish to downgrade this to 8.1.4.17149. I’m using the notehub UI to do this as the device is remote. I see the log message that the download of the new firmware started an hour ago but nothing since which I assume to be caused by some failure. I can’t seem to find docs that outline the firmware upgrade retry mechanism / how often it will retry the upgrade. Do these exist?

The device is showing 25% downloaded however it’s been a few hours. I suspect this will fail. Is there any known issues with version 9.1.1.17181? I’ve never had an issue changing the firmware on a notecard before
The download gets to 25% and then the notecard seems to fail. I have a suspicion the 9.1.1.17181 build requires more power to do updates than the previous builds. My custom notecard carrier is supplying 3.5v of power to this notecard and has this issue. If I use a notecarrier B that supplies close to 5v of power I do not have this issue.

It will be challenging for us to diagnose your issue without more information about your custom notecard carrier. Are you able to support bursts of up to 2 A of current, given your existing design? I’m sure you have already discovered our application note on custom hardware but it’s worth revisiting the notes about Power Supply Selection.
