After successfully connecting to my Notecard and getting to the {“req”:“hub.sync.status”} step in setup, I always get this message “waiting to begin first sync {idle}”. I know my RAK gateway is connected to TTN correctly because it shows multiple successful uplinks and downlinks and appears on the map. Why won’t my Notecard leave the idle state?
My gateway is blue (connected), my firmware version is: “notecard-wl-7.4.1”, and the QR code on my gateway is 918100RC6040507002, AC1F09FFFE1442C3
When you say your “RAK gateway”, are you using the whitelabeled RAK gateway provided by Blues or a different gateway? I don’t see your gateway EUI in our Things Stack tenant which is why I’m asking.
Sorry for the confusion. This is not the RAK gateway provided by Blues. It is a seperate RAK 7268V2 I purchased. It does show as connected to TTN on the map though.
Next up, we need to confirm that your gateway is receiving uplink messages from your Notecard LoRa. As depicted in the image below, you should be able to verify that your gateway is receiving uplink messages with a Join EUI of 6E 6F 74 65 63 61 72 64, which is the application identifier of the Blues Managed LoRaWAN application server:
If you do not see the messages above, you need to confirm 1) That your gateway is provisioned in your Things Network Account and online and 2) That your Notecard LoRa is on and a Product UID has been set, as the Notecard will not attempt a sync without this.
I think I’ve fixed the issue. I recently moved my gateway and Notecarrier, and now they are connecting. I’m guessing the problem was an obstruction between the two.
